in
conjunction with The 2008 International Conference on Bio-Science
and Bio-Technology (BSBT
2008)
MDescription:
The biometric systems play an important role in our society at the
moment. We would like to recognize (verify or identify) other people
by their special characteristics which should be unique for each
of them. The first possibility for such recognition is the usage
of our brain, the second one is an electronic device with an appropriate
firmware/software. In this special session, there will be considered
access and forensic biometric systems, including verification and
identification tasks.
The aim is to include a new approaches from the following topics
of biometric systems:
- Fingerprint
- Face
- Thermal images
- Hand and finger veins
- Hand geometry
- Iris
- Retina
- DNA
- Voice
- Gesticulation
- Lip movements
- Gait
- Odour
- Dental biometrics
- Liveness detection
- and more other
All new methods of image acquirement, enhancement and processing,
feature detection and extraction, feature transformation and comparison,
etc. are very important, nevertheless the security of such devices
has not be neglected, i.e. the enciphered communication, encryption
of features set etc. should be considered too, the same way as the
description of attack possibilities on biometric attributes and
devices.
