Brief Description of Special Session
Today Information Security(IS) has profound implications in every aspect
of our lives. With the emergence of the information security across the
world, IS is converging with almost all companies which greatly influence
the way companies perform their business as well as the way ordinary people
interact with each other. This finally affects the fundamental nature
of societies, organization and ultimately affects the natural infrastructures
and environment. In such scenario, IS researchers and cryptographers have
to focus on designing collaborative services with IT area and enviro-friendly
products. Recently many researches have been done in the area of green
IT providing many integrated and environment-friendly solutions like thin
clients and extend useful life of the hardware. Information security is
one area which consumes high computational resources ultimately putting
stress on the environment. But this area is highly overlooked requiring
more research.
The main goal of this special session is to bring concept of green IT
and convergence into the security technology research area. This session
will bring ideas, problems and solutions relating green IT and convergence
with information security technology
Topics of interest but are not limited to
the following:
1. Security for bio chips and bio-recognition information
2. Security for RFID and Convergent Components
3. Convergence in Security Technology Design and Evaluations
4. Security issues on U-Home and U-City Technology
5. Security issues on U-Traffic/Transportation Technology
6. Security issues on U-Learning Technology
7. Security Issues on Hybrid Technology
8. Information Security, Energy and Environment
9. Hybrid and Convergent Approaches on Information Security
10. Security Issues on Green IT
