2009 International Workshop on Network Assurance and Security Services in Ubiquitous Environments
The technology for ubiquitous computing systems (UCS) has and continues to advance at a dramatic pace. However, the technology for ensuring the security and availability of those systems has not kept pace. Traditionally, security has not been considered as an essential element in the design or development process and was often added as an afterthought. As a result, today's systems are often plagued with numerous vulnerabilities that may be exploited by malicious users. Thus, to realize their potential, necessary network assurance and security (NAS) measures have to be incorporated in the design and during the operation of ubiquitous systems.
Consequently, NAS has become an important research issue in ubiquitous environments (UE). Finding effective ways to protect networks and sensitive data within the critical information infrastructure in UE is challenging even with the most advanced technology and trained professionals.
International Workshop on Network Assurance and Security Services in Ubiquitous Environments (NASSUE-2009) will foster a forum for discussing and presenting recent research results in this important and growing technical area. NASSUE-2009 aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, developers, and policy makers to share and exchange ideas and to learn about the latest developments, problems and solutions related to NAS issues in UE.
NASSUE-2009 will be held in conjunction with ISA 2009 in Korea University, Seoul, Korea.
