Overview
With the proliferation of wireless technologies and electronic
devices, there is a fast growing interest in Mobile
and Ubiquitous Computing (MUC). MUC enables to create a human-oriented
computing environment where computer chips are embedded in everyday objects
and interact with physical world. Through MUC, people can get online even
while moving around, thus having almost permanent access to their preferred
services. With a great potential to revolutionize our lives, MUC also poses
new research challenges. This workshop will focus on the challenges and
solutions for MUC with an emphasis on interactive multimedia and intelligent
services. The workshop will provide an opportunity for academic and industry
professionals to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of MUC.
The workshop will publish high quality papers, which are closely related to
the various theories and practical applications in MUC. In addition, we
expect that the workshop and its publications will be a trigger for further
related research and technology improvements in this important subject.
Topics
(included, but are not limited to)
- Multimedia content distribution/service
system in MUC
- Theoretical foundations and algorithms for multimedia in MUC
- Real-time and interactive multimedia applications for MUC
- Ubiquitous multimedia streaming with mobility, QoS, and multicast support
- Multimedia synchronization schemes in MUC
- Mobile multimedia applications & services
- Business model and protocols for ubiquitous services
- Intelligent context-aware schemes for MUC
- Wireless sensor networks / RFID application for MUC
- Key management and authentication in MUC
