From abroad and as a general rule one should fly first to Seoul's Incheon Airport and then travel either by public transport (40 minutes) or by fast taxi (30 minutes) to Gimpo Airport, and from Gimpo to board one of the very frequent flights to the airport in Jeju. The flight from Gimpo to Jeju is inexpensive, very frequent, and takes about an hour.
Although from certain countries one can fly directly to Jeju International Airport: there are direct flights to Jeju from Japan's Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya, China's Beijing and Shanghai, Taiwan's Taipei, and Thailand's Bangkok.
